Do rich people ever give directly to regular people?

  
I guess I just wonder if the little people ever really get noticed by the rich. I hear them talk about how they donate to foundations and that good and all. I just feel like so many people are missed when foundations have all of the control. Also wouldn’t it mean more to the donor if they personally choose to give to a person directly. Just thinking out loud.
