I'm scared to put myself out there.

I was raised that you shouldn't beg. I come from a strong military family that was told that you gotta work hard for what you get. What do you do when you have nobody to turn too? In the last 4 years I've lost all my family members. It's just me I have nobody to go to for emotional or financial support! HELP!!

that’s so difficult @Brooke Kebschull. I’m sorry you’re going through that.

In your shoes, I would try to start building connections to attempt to have people to turn to when you need them down the line. I saw this study that said that it takes 40 and 60 hours to move from an acquaintance to a casual friendship, from 80 to 100 hours to call someone a friend, and over 200 hours of togetherness before someone rated as a best friend.

It may feel like an uphill climb at the moment, but in a matter of just a year or two,  you could have a completely different support system.
