I love this question @Kalolaine Pale I took a look at your fundraiser and had a small piece of feedback about your story - do you mind if I share it here?

And for my experience it was really scary, but then ended up being really rewarding. It was a bit like throwing a party where you hope all your friends will come and bring someone. I was delighted and surprised at who “showed up.”

@Kalolaine Pale Great! Okay, the first thing I noticed is that the title isn’t consistent in its upper and lower case. It’s also not descriptive. What’s his goal? I would edit it to say, “Help Kingston Attend (whatever the name of the showcase event is).”

Next, I would clarify in the story what that showcase is, how hard he’s worked to get there, and what it means for him to attend. In addition to this, I would explain how you arrived at the goal total. Is that the cost to attend, does that include travel and hotel stays? The more information you can include, the more trust you will build.

Finally, I would try to share with people who know he’s in this program and want to see him shine. It may be some of his friend’s parents at his school, or people in his (hobby? - I’m still not sure what he’s showcasing) who already have the means to attend.

Nervous. Uncomfortable. Embarrassed. I don't even ask people I know for money so this takes on a whole life for itself. I just don't know what to do with it. I'm scared to even share it and tell people what I'm going through. I'm scared for anyone to judge my daughter. She has a right to get feelings and I understand completely. Same for my ex husband. They're just being protective and me being sick is unavoidable. Nothing can be done. I'm afraid to make anyone feel bad. I can't share it. I just don't know what to do.

@Kalolaine Pale I would take all of @Jules advice and i’d just add one thing. As I was reading I was curious which of the two kids is Kinsington? You might consider changing the photo to one just of him. Or possibly of you and him, and the more pictures the better.

Lol nervous and anxious

I’m uneasy. I don’t know people, nor do I have friends or family. I’m afraid for my family and I don’t know if this will even make a difference. I’m hopeful still.

I really hope you keep your son. I can’t imagine losing mine for any reason, but I’m always afraid I will. Our babies need their mommas.

I’m uneasy about this, but only because I ran into fiscal issues and also missed work time from Covid (not to mention that my work schedule wasn’t even adjusted as quickly as I planned for). Basically speaking, the payment schedule for my wish list item was upended by unplanned consequences from three related factors so I’m otherwise at a loss for ideas on how to salvage this thing.

Embarrassed, did not share on Facebook. I never want to ask for help but I’m thinking of it as a community created socialism fund. I’ll be as transparent as possible. I should not rule it out as an option for myself.

I am very new to this. I made this GoFundMe account for my son, Kingston. Pretty nervous to be honest but so far it’s been great. I hope we reach our goal as he got accepted for a talent show. We are super excited for him to live out his dreams. He will have his first show case next month in Los Angeles 😍🙏 Full story on my page. Anyways, How did you all feel about making a GoFundMe for the first time? It’s kind of scary for me asking for help from strangers but we all fall short at times!!!

At first I couldn’t help but feel I was failing at life, that was quite brief. That was followed by instinctively knowing 100% that NOONE would bother helping me out, that gradually evolved into WOW!!! I gotta figure out how to maintain this because it’s looking lke I won’t be returning to work until next year!

We all need support once in life no you're not a failure at all you're doing what any other parent would do to help your child dream come true I'm proud of you and I know that you will reach the gold that you're achieving for your son I wish him all the blessings and I pray that he makes it to the top of his dreams

I don’t like asking people for anything but when your your whole life is destroyed by two trees you have no choice I hope everybody find a way out the situation that you are in god bless

This is my first time doing this. I never like asking for this kind of help but It's a rough road ahead and i could really use all the help i can get. I don't have many options in this economy so i hope it'll work out. 🙏

However, this person didn't tell me what to do or how to do it. I think GFM is awesome and it is amazing how many people care enough about you to donate their hard earned money.
