Community Guidelines

The GoFundMe Community is a space where kind people can come together to share tips, ideas, stories, and advice. Here you can find encouragement and support during the fundraising process or learn more before starting your fundraising journey.

This community is a public space, and in order to keep it welcoming for all, we’ve created the rules below. These rules will change and evolve over time as our community grows, so please check back regularly for updates.

  1. Be kind: This is meant to be a place for productive and positive interactions. You never know what may be going on in someone else’s life, so please treat each other with respect, empathy and kindness.
  2. Stay organized: Try to streamline questions and answers by doing a quick search of the community to see if there’s an ongoing conversation already. Write simply, clearly, and make sure to include enough detail so others can engage with you easily.
  3. Get involved: Your experiences and expertise can be valuable for others to learn from. We encourage you to share your knowledge, experiences, questions, and more! Posts should be more than just a copy of (or link to) your fundraiser. As this is a space primarily for GoFundMe organizers to connect, asking for donations or shares is not allowed.
  4. We’re here to help: If you have specific questions about your GoFundMe account and/or withdrawals, please reach out to our Customer Care team here. They will be able to dig into your account details and ensure your account questions are answered. Alternatively, if you have a more general issue, you can visit our Help Center or post your question in Tech Questions and get a response from experts in the community.
  5. Uphold GoFundMe’s policies: As a member of the community, you agree to abide by the GoFundMe Terms of Service and Privacy Notice. Any violation to our policies, standards or guidelines will be grounds for removal, as determined by GoFundMe in its absolute discretion.
  6. Help keep the community kind: Our team is committed to making the GoFundMe Community a welcoming environment. Please give us a hand– if you see something that violates our Guidelines or the GoFundMe Terms of Service, report it by using the “flag” button on any post or reply so our team can investigate.

  7. Cookies

    A cookie is a small piece of information that is stored on your computer as a file. Cookies enable us to recognize your computer on a subsequent visit. Cookies do not store personal information. We need your permission to use cookies.

    How we use cookies

    Information we obtain from cookies are used to analyze our community. We use this data to adjust the community to your personal preferences. Finally, when sending information about our products and services, we can take your previous interest for certain pages into account.

    Cookie setting

    You choose which cookies you want to allow. If you have an account you can adjust your choice in your profile settings. If you do not have an account, you can change your cookie settings by deleting them via the internet options of your browser and visiting the community again. You will then be asked to choose your settings again. There are 3 settings: Basic, Normal and Complete.

    • Basic: Functional
    • Normal: Functional + analytics
    • Complete: Functional + analytics + social media + embedded videos
